Privacy notice

Last updated: 29 September 2026. This notice covers The World Cup Of website.

Who handles your information

The World Cup Of, managed by Stuart Bluman and produced at The Factory London, is responsible for information submitted here. For privacy questions or requests to access, correct or delete your information, use our contact form and mark the message “Privacy”.

What we collect and why

Enquiries and World Cup suggestions contain the name, email address and information you choose to provide. We use these to review your idea or respond to you, and to protect the site against spam. Suggestions are reviewed by the team before publication.

Voting stores your selection against a random browser identifier. We hash that identifier in our database. A short-lived hashed network identifier helps limit abuse; raw IP addresses are not saved in the application database. The hosting provider may process network information to deliver and secure the site.

Email signup asks for express permission to send WCO news, shows, votes and member opportunities. When connected, Mailchimp manages confirmation and email delivery. A signup is not confirmed until you follow the confirmation email. Signing up is optional and you can unsubscribe from each email.

Analytics and players

Optional analytics run only after you allow them. They record pages, campaign sources and actions such as playing a video, voting or clicking a membership link. We do not put your name, email address or full referring URL in analytics events. Change your choice through Cookie settings.

YouTube players load only when you choose to play them. YouTube, Spotify, Patreon and Apple apply their own privacy terms when you use their services. We do not receive your card details or a copy of your platform membership history.

The private You Decide game stores unfinished picks against a random browser identifier so your game can resume after a reload. At the end, if you choose to join the league, we store your username, completed bracket and weekly score. Your username and league points are visible to people with the game link. Do not use your real name. You can request deletion through the privacy contact above.

Storage and retention

The application uses Sites hosting and Cloudflare-backed database storage. Service providers may process information outside the UK. Optional event records are removed after 90 days by the content maintenance process. Abuse counters expire after one hour and are cleared by later requests or maintenance. Enquiries and consent records are retained for the team to manage the relationship and should be reviewed for deletion when no longer needed. Aggregated votes may be kept with the tournament archive.

Your choices

You can refuse optional analytics, unsubscribe from email, and contact us about your information. You can also raise a data-protection concern with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
