From white dog poo and teenagers boozing in parks to Page 3 , power cuts , and Jehovah’s Witnesses knocking at the door , this episode is a strange mix of the grim, the funny and the oddly comforting. The stuff that once felt completely normal and now feels like it belonged to another country, or another lifetime. We reminisce about kids playing out until dark , the low-level fear of flashers , the glow of electric fires at your nan’s house , and moments that instantly transport you back to a different pace of life — before smartphones, ring doorbells and constant supervision. This isn’t about saying things were better — it’s about recognising how much has changed, often without us realising when the shift actually happened. This episode sets the tone for the tournament. Groups E–H and the knockout rounds continue exclusively on Patreon , where even more forgotten sights come back to life.
